ITINERARY
Day 1, Departure from USA
Depart from USA with an overnight flight to Amman, Jordan.
Day 2, Arrival to Amman, Jordan
On arrival to Jordan, we will be met by our tour guide and transferred to our hotel near the Dead Sea. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 3, Madaba, Mt. Nebo
After breakfast, we will drive to Mt. Nebo to view the “Promised Land” and the Dead Sea. Continue to Madaba to see a beautiful 6th century mosaic map of the Holy Land in a Church. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4, Petra
After an early breakfast, we will drive through the desert terrain, to Petra: “The Red Rose City – Half as Old as Time.” We will walk, or go by horseback through the narrow canyon that leads to the Red Rock. There we will see scores of imposing monuments, including the Khazneh (treasury), the Roman theatre and many other ancient buildings, all carved into the pink mountains. During the walk-through Petra you will have a break for lunch in a nearby hotel, giving you a chance to relax a bit before we continue our journey. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 5, Jordan to Holy Land
After breakfast, we will drive to Holy Land. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.
Day 6, Mt. Tabor, Nazareth and Cana
After breakfast, we will drive to Mt. Tabor. Visit Mount Tabor with a spectacular view of upper Galilee, where Jesus transfigured in the presence of Peter, James and John, and upon which stands the Church of Transfiguration. Continue to Nazareth, visit the Basilica of the Annunciation and view the Blessed Cave, where Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary. View Mary and Joseph’s House and the carpentry shop where Jesus spent 30 years of his life. Visit Cana where Jesus performed his first miracle. Here married couples can renew their marriage vows. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.
Day 7, Sea of Galilee, Boat Ride, Capernaum, Tabgha
After breakfast, we will continue to the Mt. of Beatitudes. Here Jesus proclaimed his Sermon on the Mount. A Drive to Capernaum, the town of Jesus which is the center of his ministry where he performed many miracles. Visit the House of St. Peter and the ruins of the ancient Synagogue where Jesus preached. Stop at Tabgha, the Primacy of St. Peter and visit The Church of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes; the site of the multiplication miracle. Followed by a boat ride on the Lake of Galilee. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.
Day 8, Galilee, Jordan River, Jerusalem, Bethlehem
After breakfast visit Jordan River where Jesus was baptized. Continue to Bethlehem and visit Church of Nativity in Bethlehem where Jesus was born. Celebrate Mass here. Visit Milk Grotto and the Shepherd’s Field. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 9, Jerusalem
After breakfast, we will follow the Stations of the Cross along the Via Delarosa to the Holy Sepulcher and celebrate Mass here. See the Christian, Armenian Quarters and the Wailing Wall. We will continue onto the Church of St. Peter in Gallicanctu (where Peter denied Christ), the House of Caiphas. We will visit the monastery of Dormition Abbey which is Virgin Mary’s traditional place of her assumption to heaven and the Upper Room, commemorating the Last Supper. See the tomb of King David. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 10, May 21, Monday, Jerusalem, Ein Karem
After breakfast, we will drive to the Mt. of Olives, where we gain a panoramic view of The Old City of Jerusalem. We will visit Pater Noster and walk down the Road of Palm Sunday stop at the beautiful little church, Dominus Flevit where Jesus wept over Jerusalem. Continue to the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus endured his agony and visit The Church of All Nations. In the afternoon we will visit Ein Karem to see The Church of St. John the Baptist and the Church of the Visitation. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 11, Jerusalem, Bethany, Jericho, Qumran
After breakfast, we will drive to Bethany and visit the Church built on the traditional site of The House of Mary and Martha and their brother Lazarus, see The Tomb of Lazarus continue to Jericho and see The Mount of Temptation and The Sycamore Tree. Continue to Qumran, the place where The Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Take a drive along the Dead Sea the lowest point on earth 1300 Feet below sea level. We make stop on a private beach, and take the opportunity to float on the salty water, rich in minerals. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 12, Tel Aviv-USA
After an early breakfast; departure from Tel Aviv and arrive to US on the same day.
